20/04/2023 – Laying of the 1st stone for the redevelopment and the extension of the Grand-Duc Jean Barracks at Herrenberg in Diekirch

On April the 20^th, the laying of the 1^st stone for the rehabilitation and the extension of the

Grand-Duc Jean Barracks at Herrenberg in Diekirch took place in the presence of Mr François BAUSCH, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Mobility and Public Works and Minister of Defense.

The ceremony began with a welcome speech by Colonel Alain SCHOEBEN, Commander of the Luxembourg Army Force, followed by the speech of General Steve THULL, Chief of Defence of the Luxembourg Army.

Paul Wurth Geprolux is providing the Public Building Administration with technical assistance for the supervision of studies and the monitoring of works, as part of this major project, which began in 2021 and is part of a vast programme to rehabilitate and modernise the military infrastructures.

27 existing building will be rehabilitated and 7 new buildings will be constructed. A work organisation in three consecutive phases will enable the Army to ensure their operation during the entire construction period.
