Maison du Savoir, modelling of an existing building, in Revit digital models
The Maison du Savoir, completed in 2014, comprises a 140m-long-base building topped by an 80m-high tower.
This university building comprises classrooms, workshops, a 750-seat auditorium, 6 auditoriums, a restaurant and a parking lot.
Optimizing building management and maintenance using digital mock-ups is part of the Fonds Belval’s digitalization strategy. In this context, the Fonds Belval wanted to create a digital model of the Maison du Savoir.
Paul Wurth Geprolux was entrusted with the task of scanning specific premises and modeling the building, including the technical rooms and exteriors. This mission is divided into 3 phases:
- 3D scanning of technical rooms
- Creation of a global Revit digital model, subdivided into two sub-models: architecture and special techniques.
- Add technical information to the models
