Rodange Railway Station – Refurbishment
Building owner
Société des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois - CFL
Location
Rodange, Luxembourg
Due to the construction of a significant P+R (Park & Ride) in the railway station district (which will bring frontier workers and residents together on public transport) a redevelopment accompanied by infrastructure retrofitting is necessary. The upgrading of Rodange railway station benefits users by providing them with
- Increasing passenger comfort (redevelopment of the station and bus station square),
- Improving network reliability by upgrading railway facilities
- Development of mixed-mode commuting (intermodal transportation) with new interconnections between the railway station, the P+R and surrounding districts,
- Modernisation of orientation systems and installations facilitating PMR accessibility.
One of the challenges this project presents is the need to maintain continuous traffic at the bus and railway station during the construction phase.
