H2 lighthouse project, feasibility study for a green hydrogen production facility in Luxembourg
In September 2021, the Ministry of Energy published Luxembourg’s hydrogen strategy with its final vision to decarbonise the industrial sector as well as those parts of the transport sector that can hardly be electrified.
The feasibility study, the “H2 Lighthouse project”, faces the installation of a renewable hydrogen production facility in Luxembourg, in order to cover Luxembourg’s total industrial hydrogen consumption and additionally provide renewable hydrogen for transport or mobility needs. Green hydrogen has the potential to be the main tool for realising sector coupling in Luxembourg.
